Orb Data history

1998 When working together on a project to find a comprehensive systems management tool, Orb Data’s founders, Nigel Brown, Giles McGarry and Simon Barnes were introduced to Tivoli software.

When Tivoli merged with IBM, all three joined an IBM Business Partner in a consulting capacity. They came to recognize that there was a significant lack of customer focus in the market, and, based on a mission to deliver working solutions to help customers cut costs, Orb Data was born.

It was clear that a software tool to aid the management of large-scale Tivoli management environments was needed in the market. In response, Orb Data developed Odyssey, designed to maximise the potential of a company’s Tivoli solution by improving productivity, empowering users and reducing the total cost of ownership.

Today After considerable investment in the development of skills, Orb Data now has 17 sales and 60 technical IBM software certifications amongst its staff . This skills foundation provides the basis for further growth in the coming years. We have risen through the ranks of the IBM Partner Programme and have achieved the status of Premier Business Partner. 

Orb Data relocated its HQ to The Chapel in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, as part its expansion plans, and now provides full training facilities to its customers.

IBM Accreditations The Tivoli Deployment Accreditation model helps to assure customers that the Business Partner they are working with has the necessary credentials to ensure the successful deployment of Tivoli software.
