Process Availability Agent

The Orb Data Agent for Process Availability is built on IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.2 Agent Builder technology, it monitors the processes running on a Server.

Process Availability

For each process or group of related processes the agent ensures that the total count is within a permitted range. If the total count of processes is outside the expected range an ITM Situation is triggered with a reference to the process concerned.

This can be used to check that required processes are running or that unauthorised processes are not.

Configuration

The agent can be configured to monitor different processes on each server it runs on, this is done through local configuration files.

The agent can optionally read multiple configuration files to determine what it should monitor, this means that process monitoring requirements for different applications can be specified in their own separate configuration files making management of the configuration straightforward.

Linux Intel 2.4

Solaris 32/64 bit SPARC
