Prior to attending this course, you should have:

  • General Business Service Manager concepts and Tivoli Business Service Manager operations and administration
  • Experience with Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus

Students who have completed IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.2 Administration and Configuration (TN022) all meet the prerequisites for this course. 

Objectives

  • Build service models using autopopulation, data fetchers, command line, and the Tivoli Business Service Manager console
  • Develop custom service views, canvases, dashboards, and pages for users
  • Configure the Business Service Manager Common Agent to manage system health and for storing historical reporting information with IBM Tivoli Monitoring
  • Use the Tivoli Common Reporting 1.2 to generate historical reports
  • Administer users and groups, including using LDAP
  • Use and program the Tivoli Business Service Manager application programming interface (API)
  • Provide infrastructure administration and troubleshooting for the Tivoli Business Service Manager environment
  • Describe the steps necessary to configure a Tivoli Business Service Manager failover server
