Overview

Orb Data's TEC to OMNIbus workshop is designed for customers currently running an IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) Server solution looking to upgrade to the latest technology from IBM, Netcool/OMNIbus. The workshop will cover a technical comparison of the technologies, and review how to build a business case for such a migration project. It discusses the reasons why you might choose to migrate and the differences you will find when you do. The workshop includes multiple opportunities to use Netcool/OMNIbus in a laboratory environment, and provides a series of hands-on activities that will reinforce the lessons presented in this workshop. This workshop is based on Netcool/OMNIbus v7.3.

Audience

This course is aimed at System Administrators who monitor enterprise-wide events generated by IBM or third-party monitoring tools using the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console.

Pre-requisites

Prior to attending this course, you should have:

• A working knowledge of user administration for Windows and UNIX operating systems
• A working knowledge or equivalent training on IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console 3.7 or later
• Basic knowledge of Windows or UNIX shell scripts
