Odyssey SOAP Interface for ITM 6.1

 

 

The Odyssey application from Orb Data is designed to maximise the potential of your Tivoli solution by improving productivity, empowering users and reducing the total cost of ownership.

The IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.1 TEMS server provides real time metrics for monitored systems through a SOAP interface. Odyssey uses SOAP queries to extract performance data and display it in tables and graphs in the Odyssey client interface.

 

Workspace layouts are defined within XML on the Odyssey Server and made available to the user through a workspace drop down. The advantage of defining layouts in XML is that they can be generated by scripts and easily shared between users and implementation environments.

 

The layout definition describes how Odyssey should layout multiple views within the client browser. Each view's content is also defined within XML, such as the following SOAP request.

As well as views backed by SOAP queries Odyssey provides many other different types of views. These include JDBC query, Remote Command and Remote Log File views.
